This year marks the 20th anniversary of the formation of Proudly South African, the country’s official buy local advocacy campaign, and our 9th annual and first virtual Buy Local Summit & Expo between 8-10 March, 2021.

So what can you expect?

Our programme of panel sessions, presentations and workshops will be live streamed across a number of online and social media platforms, making them accessible to everyone across the country – and indeed the world.

You can register for as many sessions as you wish, all free of charge.

Our programme has been designed to educate, inform and assist anyone with an interest in creating jobs and growing the economy of our country using local procurement as a lever for growth, and to encourage networking and skills sharing.

Whether you are an entrepreneur, small business owner, big business supply chain or procurement official or simply want to know more about the importance of buying local, check the programme for more information and to register to join the world of ‘buy local’

Our conference programme runs over 3 days and includes conversations around localisation, creating strong, local brands, the journey and successes over 20 years of the buy local movement and features speakers and panelists such as Gareth Cliff, renowned business journalist Peter Bruce, Prof Bonang Mohale, Tim Modise, Adv Dali Mpofu, Bonang Matheba and Maps Maponyane, amongst others.

Our virtual exhibition of around 200 ‘stands’ of exclusively Proudly South African goods and services will be hosted here. The site will remain live for 12 months, and we encourage anyone looking for new buyers or suppliers across a wide range of sectors to check the site.

All exhibitors will be categorised by business sector and will include information around their product/service, contact details and what opportunities they are looking for.

This is the biggest expo of local South African products and services that you will find under one roof!

Buying local is a lifestyle! We can wear, cook and listen exclusively to local without ever looking at an imported outfit, chicken or song and still be spoiled for choice!

Join us for some more light-hearted (but seriously making a point about buying local!) sessions with a bunch of South African musicians and a make over guru to see how you can be more proudly South African than even we are!

Business Solutions Hub

As if doing business wasn’t hard enough, sometimes we are tripped up by the admin required to keep an enterprise compliant and legal.

If you have issues with tax, employee benefits or labour legislation for example, or are looking for financial or even non -financial support programmes for small businesses, check the schedule of our Business Solutions Hub and go online live with the entity you need to speak to and ask your questions. Even better, have your questions answered!
